Local Product Recommendation List

A list of nearly 600 local products and tourism resources recommended by municipalities within Osaka Prefecture has been compiled into the Local Product Recommendation List for the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Osaka-Sakai as a way of promoting the appeal of the local area.

Use of Local Products at the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Osaka-Sakai

The Local Product Recommendation List for the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Osaka-Sakai, which compiles local products and tourism resources in cooperating with municipalities within the prefecture, has been presented to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to propose their use at the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Osaka-Sakai to broadcast the appeal of Osaka-Sakai to the world. Active use of these at welcome receptions hosted locally will also help ministers and members of the press from nations joining the event to experience the food and outstanding technology of the prefecture.

    Executive Officer Kawabata gave the Local Products Recommendation List to Atsushi Taketani, Director of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Trade Ministers' Meeting Preparation Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Executive Officer Kawabata stated that the Council will use the list to help foreign ministers and the press experience the food and outstanding technology of the prefecture and requested the national government to use the local products on the list throughout the meeting as well.

    Proposal to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

    Executive Officer Tsuji gave the Local Products Recommendation List to Tetsushi Yoshikawa, Trade Negotiator of the Trade Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Executive Officer Tsuji explained the significance of hosting the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Sakai, which flourished as an international trading city in the Middle Ages, and requested that the list, which features a variety of products from Southern Osaka backed by the history of Sakai and Osaka, be actively used throughout the meeting.
